Mom's 6 month "post-op" came back clean. I think she will go every 6 months for the next couple years.

Everyone in the Unlimited camp was wearing pink all weekend long while participating in the 2009 World Cup. Not only players, but spectators and staff as well.

As most of you may already know October is Brest Cancer Awareness Month.

While having on normal team meeting in the hotel lobby Tuesday night, Doug and Mary Kay informed us that we would be playing for some much more than a shot at the biggest event in paintball, and a series championship for both teams. They told us that for every point that was scored by either team $50 would be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation. One of many non-profit groups helping to find a cure for breast cancer.

We used pink "athletic tape" to wrap our tanks, barrels, and inline regs. Players wrapped their fingers, hands, wrists, and wrapped any other injuries they were nursing after a long painfull season. Spectators were the biggest part of this. Wore pink armbands, shirts, and other accessories in order to raise awareness.

With the 2 teams combined we managed 37 points throughout the week. Thus raising $1,850 dollars.

Huge shout out to Doug and Mary Kay Cox. Not only was this their idea, but they provided the motivation, and then cut the check. They enjoy high fives, so if you see them floating around the shop, but sure to send one their way.

This hit me hard on a personal level. Doing this write up makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. As many of you know breast cancer and I met face to face around Christmas last year when my mother was diagnosed. My now mother-in-law is also a survivor of nearly 10 years now. These are 2 of the most important women in my life without a doubt.

In a perfect world this may make you wonder what you guys can do. The easiest is raise awareness. Encourage those close to you to make sure they are having the mamogram annually. A lot of woman are too busy, or simply forget. As with most forms of cancer early detection is the key to winning the fight.

I enjoyed playing with other motives than pride, trophies, series rankings, and all that stuff. Team Unlimited has accomplished more in their first 3 years than most teams do in a life time! Our first year out they become the CTS Series Champions. The first team EVER to have the highest points without playing in all of the events. The next year they win the World Cup. Now this year they play the X-Ball format for the first time and get a 2nd place finish at World Cup. Not to mention how well they did during the year finishing in 4th place in the nation out of the 132 teams that played. That is FANTASTIC!

Team Unlimited Kids hit the circuit following in big brothers shoes with the CTS Series. Yes, they won the series. 2008 CTS Series Champions! These guys played excellent paintball this year. We will be hitting the PSP Events next year and hope to follow in the same steps as Team Unlimited.

We will work very hard this winter with both teams and hope to come out next year with one goal in mind, NUMBER ONE! Expect to see HUGE things from both teams next year.

Mary Kay and I are very very proud of each of the team members. We have come along way since the days in the woods out in Walton!
